The Ontario Sunshine List Directory is an independent, non-partisan resource that makes Ontario's Public Sector Salary Disclosure data easier to search, explore, and understand. We compile, normalize, and host 30 years of data — from 1996 to 2025 — covering over 3.27 million salary records across more than 2,000 public sector employers.
The Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to disclose the names, positions, salaries, and taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in a calendar year. This annual disclosure is commonly known as the "Sunshine List."
The Government of Ontario publishes the data each spring through the Ontario Open Government Portal under the Ontario Open Government Licence.
This site is independently operated as a public interest resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Government of Ontario or any public sector employer listed in the data.
All salary data is sourced directly from the official Ontario government open data portal. Records are downloaded, normalized for consistency across years, and made searchable. No data has been altered, estimated, or fabricated. The original source records are linked from each disclosure.
